For the Pizza Dough (or use store-bought)
- 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
For the White Garlic Sauce
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup milk
- ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
Toppings
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¾ cup sliced dill pickles
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- ¼ cup fresh dill, chopped (for garnish)
Step 1: Prepare the Pizza Dough (Skip if using store-bought)
In a small bowl, mix warm water and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and sugar. Add yeast mixture and olive oil.
Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
Step 2: Make the White Garlic Sauce
In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
Stir in flour and cook for another 30 seconds. Slowly whisk in milk and cook until thickened (about 2 minutes).
Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan, salt, and black pepper. Set aside.
Step 3: Assemble the Pizza
Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C).
Roll out the dough onto a floured surface and transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
Spread the garlic sauce evenly over the dough.
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese, then add the sliced pickles evenly on top.
Sprinkle dried oregano and red pepper flakes.
Step 4: Bake and Serve
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
Remove from oven and garnish with fresh dill.
Slice and enjoy your tangy Pickle Pizza!
- Dough Shortcut: Use store-bought pizza dough to save time.
- Sauce Alternative: Swap the white garlic sauce for ranch or Alfredo sauce.
- Pickle Choice: Dill pickles work best, but try bread & butter pickles for a sweeter twist.
- Extra Crunch: Pat pickles dry with a paper towel to prevent excess moisture.
- Cheese Options: Mozzarella is classic, but cheddar or provolone add extra flavor.
- Serving Tip: Garnish with fresh dill for a burst of freshness.
