Ingredients
  

  • 1 box German Chocolate Cake Mix Betty Crocker Super Moist Chocolate Fudge recommended
  • 3 eggs As required by cake mix
  • 1 cup water As required by cake mix
  • 1/2 cup oil As required by cake mix
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar For extra caramelized sweetness
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted To enhance richness
  • 1 can Sweetened condensed milk 14 oz, to make the cake extra moist
  • 2/3 cup chopped pecans For crunch and flavor
  • 2/3 cup sweetened flaked coconut Classic German chocolate cake topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Prepare the German chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions, using eggs, water, and oil.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool slightly.
  • Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the cake.
  • Mix the melted butter and brown sugar together and pour over the cake.
  • Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes.
  • Sprinkle the chopped pecans and flaked coconut evenly over the cake while it's still warm.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, toast the pecans and coconut before adding them to the cake.
