Instructions
In a large pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat and set aside.
In the same pot, melt butter and sauté onions, garlic, carrots, and celery until softened.
Add potatoes and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender.
In a small saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour to create a roux. Slowly add milk and heavy cream, whisking until smooth.
Stir the roux into the soup and add the cooked beef back in. Mix well.
Reduce heat to low, stir in shredded cheddar cheese, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir until cheese is melted and soup is creamy.
Serve hot, garnished with extra cheese or crispy bacon bits!
