Snow Crab Legs Recipe

  • Author: Melinda

Description

Snow crab legs are a seafood delicacy known for their sweet, tender, and flaky meat. Harvested from cold waters, they have a bright orange shell that’s easy to crack and are usually pre-cooked for convenience.

Ingredients

  • Snow crab legs (fresh or frozen)
  • Water (for boiling or steaming)
  • Salt (optional, for seasoning)
  • Butter (melted, for dipping)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Optional: Garlic, herbs, or spices for added flavor.

Instructions

  1. Boil: Fill a large pot with water, add salt, and bring to a boil. Add crab legs and cook for 4-7 minutes. Drain and serve.
  2. Steam: Place crab legs in a steamer basket over simmering water. Cover and steam for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F, brush crab legs with butter, wrap in foil, and bake for 10-15 minutes.

Notes

  • Most snow crab legs are pre-cooked; reheat, don’t overcook.
  • No need to thaw frozen legs; just cook 1-2 minutes longer.
  • Add lemon, garlic, or seasoning to boiling/steaming water for extra flavor.
  • Serve with dipping sauces like garlic butter or Cajun butter.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheat gently.
