Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For the Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
  • 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or fresh thyme sprigs)

For the Orzo:

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth (or water)

Garnish:

  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped
  • Additional grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Season & Sear Chicken: Season chicken with spices and sear in olive oil until golden. Remove and set aside.
  2. Make Sauce: Sauté garlic in butter. Add broth, cream, Parmesan, red pepper flakes, sun-dried tomatoes, and thyme. Simmer.
  3. Cook Orzo: Stir orzo into the sauce, cover, and cook for 8–10 minutes until tender.
  4. Finish Chicken: Return chicken to the skillet. Simmer until fully cooked.
  5. Garnish & Serve: Top with fresh basil or parsley and extra Parmesan. Serve hot!

Notes

  1. Adjust the spice level by adding or reducing red pepper flakes.
  2. Use fresh or dried herbs based on availability.
  3. Add extra broth if the sauce thickens too much while cooking.
  4. Ensure the chicken is fully cooked (165°F internal temperature).
  5. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley for added flavor.
